On this week’s installment of The NOLADrinks Show with Bryan Dias, we chat with the guys from De Nada Tequila – co-founders, Adam Millman and Danny Neeson, and master distiller, Cesar Vivanco. We discuss their partnership with Cesar and has family who own and operate Vivanco Family Distillery, a multi-generational operation that farms agave and produces Tequila. Their relationship is not only based on making great juice, but also centers on environmental responsibility and cultural sustainability. We also sample their blanco and resposado expressions.

This time around, we are talking with a new Tequila brand – De Nada Tequila. The company was founded by two friends who met at Tulane University right here in New Orleans – Adam Millman and Danny Neeson. Already being fans of the spirit category, they sought to start a brand that delivers quality Tequila and also supports environmental responsibility and cultural sustainability.

Adam and Danny discuss how they started the brand, sought out the Vivanco family as the ideal partner for farming and production, and got the ball rolling. Cesar, as a third-generation master distiller, lets us know about his family’s operation, including five generations of farming agave, and how De Nada’s blanco and reposado are made.

Importantly, we discuss how Adam and Danny as well as the Vivanco family value being environmentally and culturally responsible in their business. We talk about how these ideas manifest in their production and operation and how it continues to be an ongoing journey moving forward.

Of course, we sample their blanco and resposado Tequila expressions! They let us know how De Nada is available in the northeast (Adam and Danny are based in NYC) but they are working to actively expand their reach and availability.

Cesar, Adam, and Danny stick around for our podcast-only segment, “Another Shot with NOLADrinks,” where we chat further about things. Overall, it’s a fun and interesting chat into starting up a spirits brand as well as some of the important issues facing the Tequila industry.
