Meet Community Leader Kimara Snipe
Today on Midwest Misfits we are talking with Kimara Snipe, one of the leaders in the community who is taking action and encouraging policy change amidst the current movement happening across the nation. Kimara has been an advocate and community leader since she was a teen. Currently, she works at Nebraska Civic Engagement Table to empower the electorate and engage the community. She is also a youth specialist for the Omaha Public Library where she created Teen Talk About focusing on trauma through literacy. She also serves as president of the Highland South- Indian hill neighborhood association that has been working to bridge the gap between the police and community as well as sitting on the Omaha Public School Board on the Policy Committee and Student Assignment Plan. Her focus is on equity and mental health, prioritizing the relationship between the schools and community.
