Burnout happens anywhere, in your personal life, home life and work life. The biggest place for burnout is in the workplace isn’t uncommon, and it’s not pleasant, either. There was data from the American Institute of Stress which suggested that 80 percent of U.S. workers feel stressed out about their jobs, with 40 percent in roles that are “very” or “extremely” stressful. The figures are probably very similar to around the rest of the world too.
Even if you love your job, it’s common to feel burnt out from time to time. Perhaps you just wrapped up a big project, the relief of getting it all done but then you’re having trouble mustering motivation for the next one. It could be that your home life is taking up more of your energy than usual. Or maybe you’re just bored.
