JFD588: The Snow Woman, Baba Yaga, Witching and Bitching

October 08, 2021

It's Witch week, junkies, so break out those broomsticks and get spooked with these three international tales of witchcraft. Up first! It's 1968's The Snow Woman, from Japan. This classic folklore tale is most notable for inspiring Parker's favorite Pokemons. But how many witches does it really contains? Donloyd and find out. Next up! Those wacky Italians bring us the highly-erotic and super-funky Baba Yaga (from 1973). This film is considered essential viewing for fans of early 70s Italian interior design, Lesbian witchcraft, and boobs. Plus, we got a voicemail about it this week! Finally! Of course, it's 2013's Witching and Bitching, from Spain's Álex de la Iglesia. It's got a unique blend of action, witches, and terrible CGI, all of which is chatted about in a friendly manner. All this plus which witches are wickedest?, what's Sean been watchin'?, Parker's Marvel Movie Mania, which Boris Karloff documentary was essential in-theater viewing for our fearless Kevin?, theatrical vomit-play, obscure perversions on the Home Box Office, meatless wonders, unfathomable Fathom events, a truly great Mank pun, dramatic/interpretive legalese, funny ragamuffins, nerd news and even more! Recorded live-to-tape on National Kiss a Wrestler Day, 2021!! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, or better yet an opinion on next week's movies?
