July 10, 2013

In episode #14 of the infinite pie connection podcast I talk to Joe Cross about his film Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and his role as CEO of and Founder of RebootwithJoe.com.  Joe tells me that whilst he may have been successful in some criteria of his life, he was unbalanced and needed to make a change.

  • Focusing on Wealth and losing sight of Health
  • The difference between knowing and doing
  • Compelling reason to change - no more procrastinating
  • How plants give us life and love and the need to run towards, not away from mother nature
  • Being open to listening to experts that you trust
  • The camp of unluckiness and the camp of stupidity (and the desire to be in the latter)
  • Not accepting an outcome without testing it for himself first
  • How getting a 'F' report card created the inspiration
  • How filming the journey enabled the community to support and hold Joe accountable

  • "When people say you're crazy, then I think I am on to something here"
  • How people can create excuses to avoid moving forward and the difference between excuses and obstacles

  • Joe connection to make life happier, fuller or simpler comes from water and he is at peace around or on bodies of water.
  • Happiness comes from feeling useful - connecting with people or with himself
  • 3 rules Joe applies to life  - 1) the truth will set you free, 2) Lady Luck follows a person of action and 3) you don't learn anything new, you just remember what you have forgotten
  • Joe would love to connect with Katie Perry and Lady Ga Ga due to their ability to impact and influence so many young minds
  • Joe suggests we should connect with Andrew Rasiej, Howard Shultz & John Mackey
  • 4 keys to success - 1) Understand and take risks, 2) Be passionate, 3) accept and make sacrifices and 4)  be lucky
