2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Review, Prices, Trims, Features & Photos

2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Review
During my 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback review, I found the car to be a sporty and versatile compact that fits nicely into Honda's family of Civic vehicles.

And, yes, Honda offers more sub-types of the Civic than some car makers have in their entire line of vehicles.  Here is what's included in Honda's 'family' of Civics:

Hatchback - four-door, rather sporty and aggressive overall design.
Coupe - two-door, can be configured sporty or more subdued.
Sedan - four-door, also can come sporty or a bit more relaxed.
Type R - four-door, also a hatchback, unmistakable high-performance sports car.

In addition to the above, Honda offers a Si edition of both the Coupe and Sedan.  And, BTW, in Honda's world, Si stands for sport injected.  :0)

I recently picked up a Civic Hatchback from my friends at Rock Honda and enjoyed buzzing around Southern California's Inland Empire for a day.

2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Trims & MSRPs
So, considering the high-performing Honda Civic Type R also happens to be a hatchback.  All the regular 2019 Honda Civic trim levels are going to have a naturally sporty look to them.

And here are those trim levels with starting manufacturer's suggested retail pricing:

2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Trim Levels & starting MSRPs:

LX $21,450
Sport $22,250
EX $23,750
EX-L w/ Navigation $26,250
Sport Touring $28,750

Since you're reading iDriveSoCal, never-ever, worry about MSRP.  That's simply the selling price the manufacturer suggests.  And I report those as a baseline reference.

This Civic means biz!

Why don't you have to worry about MSRP?  First, you need to get your 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback configured to your liking.

And second, all you have to do is go see my friends at Rock Honda in the Los Angeles suburb of Fontana, California.

Civic Hatchback Engines, Transmissions & MPG
There's one engine for all trim levels of the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback.  And, that's a turbocharged inline 4-cylinder.
"...it shares the same body with Honda's high-performing Civic, the Type R... and the Type R is compared to Porsches, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's!"
However, depending on your trim, transmission and exhaust configuration the engine's output changes slightly.

That same turbocharged inline 4-cylinder will put out 174-horsepower with 162 pound-feet of torque.  Or, it can deliver 180-horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.

This dual exhaust configuration helps add power!

The slightly higher performing engine is an option on the Sport trim and standard on the Sport Touring trim.  And, for this review of the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback, my friends at Rock Honda hooked me up with the fully loaded Sport Touring trim
Transmissions
The '19 Honda Civic Hatchback offers two transmissions in the Sport trim. Those are either a 6-speed manual or a smooth-shifting continuously variable transmission (CVT).
