The Modern Gnostic Lifestyle – Craig Williams on GW Radio

September 24, 2015

In this episode of the Gnostic Warrior Radio Show and Podcast, I interview fellow Modern Gnostic, practitioner of Yoga, martial artist, and author, Craig Williams. Craig has undergraduate degrees in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and English Literature, and a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine. He currently lives in Austin, Texas, where he has a holistic medical practice specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, and Ayurveda.

In this podcast, Craig tells us about his own personal journey along the path of Truth that led him into the branches of Gnosticism and the Eastern occult traditions. He explains the difference between a normal medical practitioner and a holistic medical practitioner, and the difference in medical philosophies between the Eastern and Oriental medicine as opposed to the West.

Like me, Craig is a martial artist and whom I feel is a Gnostic Warrior. Craig says, "There are not trophies or awards on this battleground, only scars which serve as reminders of our dedication and commitment to the path and of the lessons transmitted to us by our respective lineages and teachers. Yet this is the ultimate gift which is only awarded to the few and the truly courageous ones who will walk the merciless path and learn to listen to the voice of pain. What is your stance? Are you ready to listen?"

This is the key to learning along the battlefield of life.

Craig and I discuss our Gnostic paths, and how each one of us has a different path and that we will often disagree along our journey. But, the key is to respect one another regardless of these disagreements in philosophy. We also discuss the occult teachings and how they have been corrupted, and why everyone needs a good teacher.

This interview was conducted by Moe on September 24, 2015 from San Diego County, California, with Craig in Austin, Texas.

More great quotes from Craig Williams:

"Fasting from unnatural and unwholesome visual stimuli is yet another important practice of Pratyahara. The images we gaze upon leave their imprints deep within our minds. We can use this to our advantage or disadvantage."

"Artificial and rajasic / tamasic images will plant seeds of discord and desire and will drain the mind. Natural and spiritual images have the potential to plant seeds of equanimity and peace leaving us feeling whole and renewed."

"Spending time in nature and natural environments is an excellent form of Pratyahara. We can gaze at a flowing stream or the open sky and feel the effect upon the “stream” of our thoughts or the “sky” of our minds. Just as we are polluting or external world, we are also polluting our internal world. We need involution not pollution to experience the spiritual Heart."
