The Gnostic Warrior Podcast
Esoteric and Exoteric Freemasonry – Angel Millar on GW Radio
In this episode of the Gnostic Warrior Radio Show, I interview martial artist, spiritualist and Masonic philosopher, Angel Millar. He is the author of three books; Freemasonry: A History, Freemasonry: Foundation of the Western Esoteric Tradition, and his most recent book, The Crescent and the Compass: Islam, Freemasonry, Esotericism and Revolution in the Modern Age.
Angel grew up in the suburbs of London, England, and later lived in Canada and the USA where he currently resides. At a young age, he had a keen interest in the occult teachings such as Freemasonry and was later initiated into an esoteric or semi-mystical Masonic Fraternity in New York. His interests span both the Western and Eastern traditions such as esoteric Hinduism, Buddhism (especially Zen) and Confucianism and an avid researchers of religion and spirituality over the last three centuries.
In this podcast, Angel discusses both the esoteric and exoteric sides of Freemasonry and various secret societies. He talks about the importance of Masonic rituals, degree structures, symbols and why initiates should cultivate in a balanced manner their mind, body, and spirit. He explains true initiation, the higher man, and what is authentic initiation. Angel and I also briefly discuss Islam and the role of anti-Freemasonry in various extremist-Islamic sects and the recent influx of Muslim immigrants into Europe.
This interview was conducted by Moe on January 25, 2016 from the Land of Enchantment in the Masonic States of America, with Angel in New York.
