087 Most Haunted: Chicago Water Tower

February 02, 2022
The Chicago Water Tower seen from across the busy Michigan Avenue. Inside the 47 m tall tower there was a 42 m high standpipe to hold water. In addition to being used for firefighting, the pressure in the pipe could be regulated to control water surges in the area. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Chicago_Water_Tower.jpg

Is the Chicago Water Tower Haunted?

Is the Chicago Water Tower haunted? Special guest host Mondo joins Ghostly to talk about one of the most haunted places in Chicago, the Water Tower on Michigan Avenue. It’s also one of the oldest buildings in the city, having survived the Great Chicago Fire. Dion McGill from Off the Beaten Podcast joins us to talk about the city we love and the Magnificent Mile area. Listener discretion advised for this episode. Listen and vote!

Questions Explored in this Episode

Where, when, and why was the Chicago Water Tower built? How did it survive the fire? What is it used for now? How did Chicago make its water safe to drink? Did someone die the night of the fire and is that spirit still in the building? What other spirits have been seen?  Is it full of paranormal activity?
