Amelia Earhart. In the history of aviation, one woman stands out. Dreading a mundane life spurred her on to be a pilot and to attempt flights that most wouldn't dare at the time. An inspiration to women around the world and an ability to draw large crowds meant that she was a celebrity and an ambitious one at that. Nothing would stop her from attempting a dangerous flight around the world which she began in 1937. A flight from New Guinea to Howland Island, one of the last legs in her trip, was never completed. During the flight she and her navigator disappeared. Did they go off course and run out of fuel? Did they land on a remote island? Was she seized by the Japanese? Many stories attempt to explain what happened to Amelia Earhart. But which of them is most likely true?
