The Generation Why Podcast
Jeffrey Havard – 137 – Generation Why
February 21, 2002. When a 6 month-old is dropped after bathing by her mother's boyfriend, he believes that she will be ok and later puts her down to sleep. After the mother arrives home and checks on her she finds that her daughter is turning blue and is having trouble breathing. Unfortunately, young Chloe doesn't make it. The boyfriend, Jeffrey, would end up charged in her death and taken to court. The charge was capital murder. Not simply murder, but murder committed during a sexual assault. How did dropping a child become interpreted as sexual assault? What evidence did the prosecutor bring forward at trial? Will Jeffrey Havard be executed by the state of Mississippi?
Notes: Jeffrey Havard did NOT wash the bedding. This was an error. As to the 'driving the wrong way to the hospital' statement, Rebecca Britt testified to this and as far as I can tell this was uncontested in court. She also stated that no hospital was in the direction he started off in.
