The Norway Shooter – 133 – Generation Why
The Norway Shooter. On July 22, 2011, Anders Breivik executed two attacks within his own country of Norway. He began his acts of terrorism with a car bomb in Oslo that killed 8 and wounded more than 200 and ended with a massacre of many dozens of people on the island of Utøya. He is captured and later faced trial for the deaths of 77 individuals. He received a sentence of 21 years. The attacks seemed to be politically motivated. Was Breivik part of a larger group? Was Norway's reaction to and subsequent sentencing of Anders Breivik justified? How should countries deal with their own violent terrorists?
