101 – Buddhist 12 Step Recovery | Keys to my Success

February 02, 2017

Today, once again, I get off topic for the week. I share what came up in my recent meditation about my own success. I give clear examples of how I apply what I learn and grow into what I think is a better person.

Accept Reality - no mind altering substances and having Right View and Right Thought.
Influences (the influence formula) is a central part of my learning and applying knowledge. This is my Right Effort.
Open-minded = Teachable. This also includes Right Mindfulness and Right Meditation.
Changing my old "quick fix" mentality that was impressed upon me by the media of advertising to a new mentality of "fitness." Meaning that I will work at it little by little, daily as a lifestyle of growing and changing.
I have learned how to grow and make it my goal.
Goal Setting - affixing a flag on the horizon and working toward it one step at a time.

I am not who I once was. I didn't want to be who I once was and dreamed of who I wanted to be. I am not there yet but I am on the right path.
