AA step one usually requires everyone to hit their "bottom." Its the circumstances that cause an addict or alcoholic to evaluate their situation recognize their problem and their illness and make a decision to seek help. These are some of the events that stood out for me which in turn lead me to find my bottom, in other words to say enough is enough.
