February 25, 2021

In this episode, Chip and Terri welcome special guests and former colleagues, Dr. A.G. & Brenda Miller.  Dr. A.G. Miller is a renowned scholar of Black History, serving for 27 years as Professor of Religion and Africana Studies at historic Oberlin College.  After catching up on an amazing urban outreach that the Freeds and Millers collaborated on in the 1990's -- that is still bearing fruit today in Lorain County, Ohio -- Dr. Miller answers the question "Why Black History Month?" Dr. Miller also discusses briefly the Nadir Period in African-American History and the origins of the Black National Anthem, "Lift Every Voice & Sing." (He references Imani Perry's book, "May We Forever Stand: A History of the Black National Anthem.").He wraps up with a story from his own family's lineage and what it really means to "Love Beyond Boundaries."
