Chris Carhart – Drummers I Like Podcast #47

April 28, 2017

Welcome back to this week’s episode of Drummers I Like. Today we are joined by Chris Carhart. Chris plays for Phantogram and endorses Aquarian drumheads, Paiste cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, and Drums.
In this episode:

Growing behind the kit: Chris breaks down his path to success

aMUSE me: Chris talks about his experience touring the world with MUSE

Who built the kit: Chris breaks down his relationship with QDrums and the experience of working with this great team!

Growing behind the kit:
Have you ever found yourself trying to play drums deviating from the normal playing position? Chris plays open handed, always. Between dingy drum lessons above the local guitar shop to playing to records, Chris found the open-handed style of playing worked best for him.
aMUSE me:
Chris was enjoying his time in Austin, TX having some drinks and joking about opening for MUSE. Fast forward a few months and Chris found himself sitting behind the kit in Europe playing six sold out shows for the very same band he was joking about.
Who Built the kit:
With so many custom drum companies releasing quality products choosing the right kit can be a difficult decision. Chris made his decision with QDrums not based on quality but relationships and customer service. Chris gives us the specs of his kit as well as the Paiste setup he uses in this episode and it’s definitely a one of a kind drum kit.
