Moses Is Born | Ep. 046

April 14, 2021

God's people were trapped in slavery by the Egyptians. Pharaoh had commanded the Egyptians to kill all the Hebrew baby boys, so God’s people started hiding their newborn babies to keep them safe. One mother carefully wove a basket for her son and sent him down the Nile River, hoping he would be taken care of. Help came in the most unlikely of people - Pharaoh's daughter! From baby boys being thrown into the river to the baby boy floating on top of the river, God sent a savior to His people.

Our Bible reading is from Exodus 2:1-10.

"She named him Moses, because she said, I drew him out of the water."Exodus 2:1-10

A Vessel of Safety

Just like the ark carried Noah, his family and the animals to safety, a basket carried Moses to safety too! His mother loved him so much, and she took great care to make sure this basket was made with strong reeds and sealed to keep the water out. Even though it may have seemed like the baby was left all alone, God’s plan to save His people was taking shape and in the safety of the basket, Moses floated towards protection.
