2019 Recap with Dr. Jaclyn Garlich of 2020 Glance

January 06, 2020

We can’t truly start 2020 until we’ve teamed up with Dr. Jackie Garlich of 2020 Glance to break down the biggest new additions in pharmaceuticals and eyecare technology of the past year. Think not a lot happened in 2019 that influenced the way you practice? Think again.

All of us agreed that the biggest FDA approval news of the year was the announcement of CooperVision MiSight contact lenses gaining indication for myopia control. This is the first every treatment for myopia control that has been approved by the FDA (orthokeratology is approved for the treatment of myopia).

From new drops for dry eye to new drops for glaucoma, we discuss how these new medications will fit (or not fit) into our treatment regimens.

We also celebrated the fact that loteprednol has gone generic. If you’ve been prescribing a lot of FML to get patients drops at a lower cost, now there’s a safer generic alternative!

Get up to date, and have a good time doing it, on this podcast!
