Why Does the Bible Command Repentance?

“I (Jesus) tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3, 5 NKJV)
That should be clear enough! If anybody wants to avoid perishing, as in dying and going to a devil’s hell, then Jesus taught that repentance is, absolutel.
