Gospel Fluency (feat. Jeff Vanderstelt)

June 18, 2017

As men, we can be known for trying to complete a project without reading the instructions. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we are left with extra parts that we have no idea what they are for. Unfortunately, this is often our approach to the gospel as well. We try to live right and share Jesus with others but we don’t take the time to engross ourselves in the instruction manual – the Bible. In this week’s episode, Jerrad Lopes talks with Jeff Vanderstelt, pastor of Doxa Church in Bellevue, WA, and author of Gospel Fluency, about several topics important to understanding our role as Christian dads including:

· What does gospel fluency mean?

· How should we discipline our children?

· How can we be gospel-centered husbands?

Join us as we learn how to truly become fluent in the gospel by learning to immerse ourselves so completely in the truths of the gospel that it becomes our “mother tongue.”

Host: Jerrad Lopes

Guest: Jeff Vanderstelt is the visionary leader of Saturate and the Soma Family of Churches, is the vision and teaching pastor at Doxa Church in Bellevue, WA, and author.

Mentioned during the episode:

· Gospel Fluency - Even if they want to, many Christians find it hard to talk to others about Jesus. Is it possible this difficulty is because we're trying to speak a language we haven't actually spent time practicing? To become fluent in a new language, you must immerse yourself in it until you actually start to think about life through it.
