The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly forum on neutralizing Workplace Racism. A number of regions around the globe are beginning the process of re-opening and allowing certain businesses to reopen. All areas of people activity have been disrupted, and workers in all industries are struggling to deal with daily adjustments and new safety hazards. A number of meat processing plants have reported outbreaks prompting closures and fears of meat shortages and/or a major contamination of food sources. Concern has also been raised about produce pickers who are crowded into tightly packed buses and lacking protective and sanitation equipment. A number of essential workers have also rebuffed symbolic applause and platitudes from the general public and made a more poignant call for hazard pay, sick pay and routine compensation that reflects the essential nature of their duties.
