What Type of Example are you Setting? 8-3-2020

August 03, 2020

What kind of example are you setting?
It’s important that we understand that someone, somewhere is watching us, they listen to what we say, they think about what we do; everything we do should be things we are proud of.
Titus 2:7 “In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness”
Who is the ultimate role model?  Of course, it’s Jesus, if we follow His example or the examples of those who truly show they are Christians, our lives and the lives of those around us would be better.
1 Corinthians 11:1 – “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
How can I be a good role model?
Be accountable for your actions.  Don’t play the blame game, don’t whine about life, if you mess up, fess up.1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.  You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.”
It’s important that not only do we do right, we must speak out against wrong.  We cannot tolerate injustice, we can’t close our eyes and pretend things aren’t happening to others.
Jeramiah 1:10 – “See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant”
Influence others for good, otherwise you’re wasting you gifts and time Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.”
Being a good role model means being a servant Matthew 20:28- “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
3 John 1:5-8 5 “Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers; and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. For they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers with the truth.”
Remember open you bible and believe because, there’s always a way to stay in the saddle when life is trying to buck you off.  God Bless and Peace y’all
