Bollotta-FIDE is back with the first new episode of the year. BF’s Anthony Bollotta and Alex Apostolidis are joined this week by David Calzaretta, CEO of Magnificent Events out of Chicago and also the band leader of the award winning band Maggie Speaks. Anthony gets to the bottom of who is “Maggie” that the band’s name hails from and how did a musician/band leader find success in starting an event company. David answers the question, “Are you losing yourself by keeping your mouth (or social media) quiet and ego in check for the gig?” They touch on advocating for yourself in the sales process, giving up something to gain more and how collaboration (and mentorship) is key to bigger success. They round out the discussion on being vulnerable and bringing the humanity back to how people perceive you (listen and find out about David’s powerful personal project). And David makes Alex weep (just a little).
