"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."  This quote has been attributed to Roman philosopher Seneca. Thomas Jefferson said something similar, "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Or did he? I've seen that quote credited to a dozen different people. But it's a good quote.
