Week 6 | Psalm 130 [129]
#letuspray
A Song of Ascents
130 Out of the depths I cry to thee, O Lord!
2 Lord, hear my voice!
Let thy ears be attentive
to the voice of my supplications!
3 If thou, O Lord, shouldst mark iniquities,
Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee,
that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
6 my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
7 O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
8 And he will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.

Lent is THE perfect time to get your 2021 LOVE the Word® Journal, so you can begin 40 days of learning to LOVE the Word with Mary. Preview the interior, get a free guide and journal page, and order, here.
LOVE the Word® is a Bible study method based on Mary’s own practice: lectio without the Latin. Get the book based on Sonja’s method in the right margin, How to Pray Like Mary.
Listen (Receive the Word via audio or video.)
Observe (Connect the passage to your life and recent events.)
Psalm 130 is considered by the Church to be the official prayer for the souls in purgatory (see the Catholic Encyclopedia on Psalm 130). Did the explanation of purgatory in this episode lessen your fear of it? In what ways have you made Lent a type of deliberate, purifying "purgatory" this year? How are the challenges you face in your life at the moment meant to help purify you?
Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)
What do you want to say to Him about that? Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin.
Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!)
Lord, hear my voice! Amen +
