Flag Burning, Minimum Wage & Election Talk

November 30, 2016

With Thanksgiving behind us, Beer & Bros. is back with episode 35. A lot has happened since our last show, well, not exactly a lot - just a bunch of the same stuff. On this episode of the show we talk about the #FightFor15 movement, flag burning, America divided, and the “alt-right.” Click play and have a listen.

Like a lot of you, I thought once the election was over we would all be able to go back to business as usual. That hasn’t been the case. Donald Trump’s surprising victory in the presidential election has caused a great deal of tumult in the streets, the news, and on social media in America. This isn’t the first time in history that the election result has caused such problems.

Another bit of news that’s been gathering attention lately is the Fight for 15 movement. On Tuesday the 29th, workers in cities all across the country staged a strike, demanding a $15 per hour minimum wage.

Is flag burning an exercise of free speech? Legally, yes it is. President-elect Trump thinks people who desecrate the flag should suffer some sort of punishment. Listeners John and Steve gave us their opinions via Facebook. How did the discussion go during the show?
