Thrashin’ is a skateboard movie from 1986 starring Josh Brolin as an unlikeable kid from the San Fernando valley who spends his summer in LA facing off against Tommy Hook and his “gang” the Daggers. Directed by David Winters, this movie also features pre-Twin Peaks Sherilyn Fenn as well as one other pre-Twin Peaks character! There’s also a live performance by a young Red Hot Chili Peppers, skateboard stunts by the likes of Tony Alva and Tony Hawk, and one great chase scene set to the music of the Circle Jerks. Unofortunately, all of these cool elements are offset by that painfully stupid skateboard jousting fight. Whatever, it’s free to watch on YouTube.
