087: Making my first audio drama: Thoughts on MASTER BUILDER

September 20, 2019

How do you do this audio drama stuff anyway? I’m not entirely sure, but we’re figuring it out!

I released MASTER BUILDER, my first audio drama, in July of 2019. Since then, Artist Soapbox has several audio projects in development and we are rolling full speed ahead, but today I took a moment to look back on the creation of my first audio fiction baby. In this short solo episode, you’ll hear about the background of MASTER BUILDER, some tips on creating audio dramas if you are a newbie, and some things I’d do differently.

Of course, this is just the tiny tip of the iceberg. There’s so much to say about the writing process, the rehearsal and recording process, the post-production process, and the post-release process. It is a many-headed beast. This solo is just a peek, and I hope you find it interesting.

Listeners, if you’d like to get the inside scoop on the behind the scenes of MASTER BUILDER and our next audio drama, THE NEW COLOSSUS (in development NOW), then become a $3+ monthly patron of Artist Soapbox. You’ll get interviews, special posts, and secret documents. Don’t delay! Thanks for listening and for your support!
