Skincare for Cancer Warriors and Survivors, Pregnant and Nursing Mothers and Sensitive Skin
When Juliana Brewer’s father was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, the skincare options available for him felt clinical. And so she and her brother set out to create products that embraced the self-care experience and were safe for his sensitized skin.
After years of experimenting with K-beauty-inspired ingredients, and consulting with dermato-oncologists, Happy 2nd Birthday was born. The skincare line provides options that are gentle yet effective for everyone from cancer patients to nursing mothers—and anyone with sensitive skin.
We talk to the co-founder of Happy 2nd Birthday about:
- Navy experience: Juliana shares her experience as a woman in the Navy, the demands of moving around, and starting a family while embarking on a career.
- Creating the line: how their father’s battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma inspired Juliana and her brother to create a more luxurious line of products that were safe for those undergoing chemo.
- K-beauty inspirations: how her culture has influenced the products
- The “Happy 2nd Birthday” name: when their father received a bone-marrow transplant, he was given a “second birthday”
- Skincare concerns and recommendations when undergoing chemo, pregnancy, or skin-sensitizing conditions.
