September 30, 2021

This week on the APL nextED Mini-Pod Dr. Nancy Coleman, Dean of the Division of Continuing Education and University Extension at Harvard University, explains how her team is advocating for impactful and accessible online learning and global classrooms in higher education.

Harvard’s history of providing continuing education dates back more than 100 years, when the Harvard Extension School was founded and began serving women and men in the surrounding community with part-time learning opportunities. The School’s programs have expanded and evolved to support the growing population of non-traditional learners. Today the Division of Continuing Education and University Extension at Harvard University serves 15,000 learners annually, providing accessible education to learners of every culture and career background, every age from 18 to 89.

Find out how Dr. Coleman and the Harvard Extension School are making global learning accessible to their surrounding community, lifelong learners and diverse cohort of students, staff and faculty.
