First wave over, more rain to come |

The first round of thunderstorms rolled through the metro area this afternoon dumping upwords of 2 inches of rain in 30-60 minutes. As a result, both Johnson county, KS and Jackson county remain under a Flash Flood Warning until 8:30 as excessive runoff could cause flooding in some areas. Another round of thunderstorms with heavy rain continue to develop along I-70 west of Topeka, and will effect the area this evening. These are forming ahead of the weak cold front moving in from the northwest. Additional heavy rain would add to flash flood concerns this evening. While there are some indications that the heaviest rainfall this evening will be just south of the metro area, I’ll keep an eye on things… Post from: Kansas City Weather Podcast |
